The Human World is the residence of all living beings (humans and Quincy), though the Vaizards also hide out here. The increase in humans possessing supernatural powers has not gone unnoticed by those who lack them, and the hostile reaction has inspired spiritually-aware individuals to go underground with their abilities. Some train in order to grow strong enough to protect their homes from the constant threat of Hollows. Others just want to become normal somehow.

Wekomundo ("Hueco Mundo" or "Hollow World") is the residence of all Hollow and Arrancar. It is and has always been a fairly barren place with little activity aside from Hollows devouring captured souls or devouring each other; however, the emergence of new Arrancar has given rise to plans and schemes involving the destruction of the Soul Society, and most who live here are coming togeher to support those efforts.

Rukongai is the larger part of the Soul Society, consisting of 320 districts (80 to the west, 80 to the north, etc.). Most of the rules that apply in the Seireitei apply here as well, but the further one travels from the Seireitei, the less those rules matter. The higher-numbered districts are little more than slums and ghettos where anything goes, and the weak are not encouraged to travel to or through them.

For reasons unknown, Karakura Town is a veritable wellspring of spiritual activity, and it produces more spiritually-aware humans than any other city on Earth. For this reason, it is a prime target for Hollows, but there are many powerful humans and Shinigami are here to defend it. The Vaizards have taken refuge here since their exile, though they rarely bother with the city's defense.

The Living World is a vast place for greater in scope than a single city. Many different cultures and societies have arisen upon it, but few are as interesting to the dead as that town which is considered to be the unofficial center of spiritual activity in this world.

Hueco Mundo is the land where the souls of those who could not pass peacefully into the afterlife reside. It is a barren place covered with sand and strange, tree-like rocks. Because of the bestial and violent nature of most Hollows, there are no signs of civilization. The only intelligently-designed structure is Las Noches, the fortress of the Arrancar.
